Patterning β€” noticing what repeats and predicting what comes next β€” is one of the strongest early predictors of later math skill. Toots starts with simple AB patterns and grows to AAB, ABC and AABB, and every pattern is also played as a melody: each fruit has its own note, so your child can hear the repeat as well as see it. Tap the train any time to sing the pattern again.

πŸ§‘β€πŸΌπŸ§’

Chant the pattern out loud together β€” "apple, banana, apple, banana…" β€” and pause dramatically at the empty car. Naming the unit ("it goes apple-banana!") is the real skill. A wrong crate simply replays the song, so every mistake turns into another round of practice.
