What does Marlow's Story Detective teach?

Reading comprehension. Each case is a short original story your child reads, followed by questions that deliberately mix comprehension types: a literal detail, the main idea, an inference ("why did she…?"), and a vocabulary-in-context word. The story stays on screen the whole time, and a miss highlights the exact sentence that holds the evidence — so kids learn to prove an answer from the text. Written at a grade 2–3 reading level for ages 7–8.

Marlow's Story Detective builds reading comprehension. Every case is a short original story (60–110 words, grade 2–3 reading level) followed by questions that deliberately mix the comprehension types kids are graded on:

🔎 Detail — find a fact stated right in the text.
🤔 Why? — an inference the story implies but never says outright.
🧩 Big idea — what the whole passage is mostly about.
📖 Word clue — work out a new word from the sentence around it.
