Why now
In April 2026, the amended Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) rule took effect in the United States, tightening what apps may collect from children and what parents must be told. It puts the whole category of kids' software under a brighter light — and it draws a sharp line between apps that promise privacy in a policy document and apps that can actually demonstrate it. The Learning Garden was designed so there's nothing to comply about: it collects nothing about the child in the first place, and it lets you confirm that with your own eyes rather than asking you to trust a sentence. A one-tap self-test — no developer tools required
The claim is only as good as the proof, so the proof is built into the product. On the Garden's Trust & Proof page, a single button reads the browser's own network log and shows every place the site has talked to. You'll see one name on the list: the Garden's own. The page also walks through an airplane-mode test (the games keep working with no connection at all) and the browser-enforced Content-Security-Policy that makes reaching an outside server impossible in the first place. Nothing is taken on faith — the browser, not the studio, writes the report.
