What the games store
Each game remembers your child's stars and which level they've reached so play picks up where they left off. By default this is saved only on your own device (in the browser's local storage). If a grown-up turns on the optional parent account, an anonymous stars-and-progress blob syncs across your own devices — never your child's name or identity, and carried only to our own server. Clearing your browser data erases the local copy.
What a Garden Key stores
Buying a Garden Key does not create an account, and on its own it tells our server nothing about you: Stripe takes the payment, and your key is a small signed file saved on your own device and checked offline, with no call home. If a grown-up has a parent account and either buys while signed in or taps “carry this key to my other devices”, we then keep one line for that account: which plan it is, the date it runs out, and the reference Stripe gives us for that payment. That line is the only reason a new tablet can unlock by signing in, and you can delete it yourself from the parent account page at any time. We never see or store a card number, we store nothing at all about your child, and Stripe keeps its own record of the payment which we cannot delete on their behalf.
One more thing worth saying plainly: when a key is close to running out, the device may ask our own server once a day to refresh it, sending only that payment reference — nothing else, and nothing about your child. A device that never bought a key never makes that call.
What we don't do
- No account is needed to play — the free games and a Garden Key both work with zero sign-up. A grown-up may optionally add one email — with a password, or a passwordless one-tap link — to sync the garden to every device; kids never need an account.
- No advertising and no ad networks.
- No analytics, tracking pixels, cookies for tracking, or third-party SDKs.
- No collection of names, location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers. The only personal data we ever hold belongs to a grown-up, and only if they choose it: a sign-in email for a parent account, and — if they buy a Garden Key while signed in, or tap “carry this key to my other devices” — which plan they bought and the date it runs out. Never a card number, never a name, never anything about your child.
- No selling or sharing of any data with third parties — ever.
Sound & voice
Games talk out loud using pre-recorded audio bundled with the app and, as a fallback, your device's built-in text-to-speech. No microphone is used and nothing is recorded.
Children's privacy (COPPA / GDPR-K)
This suite is designed for children ages 3–8 and is built to be safe by default: we collect nothing at all about your child, so nothing about a child ever requires parental consent to collect. By default a child's progress stays on the device.
